TEXT REMINDER SERVICE

We have  introduced a text reminder service for our patients. It takes the form of a text message which  remindd patients of their appointments and any other important news concerning the practice.  To make this work efficiently we would be grateful if patients who own a mobile phone would update their information with the receptionists as many people change their telephones  and forget to inform us. Thank you.

--------------------------------------

COMMUNITY PHLEBOTOMY

This is a limited resource service which is shared by all central Falkirk GP practices and is for the use of the housebound or chronically sick.

--------------------------------------

APPOINTMENTS

May we remind patients that their are limited pre-bookable appointments, early morning, late night  and telephone consultations available.  Please ask the reception staff. Early morning and late night appointments are reserved specifically for those patients who work during the day or work out of the area and we would be grateful if patients could consider this when asking for these appointments.

--------------------------------------

Patient Participation Group

We are hoping to restart our Patient Participation Group but we desperately need new members. If you feel you would like to participate please contact Barbara Johnson, practice manager and express your interest. We meet about four times a year and these meetings are held at the practice in the evenings.

MEDICATION COSTS

Unused medications cost the NHS Forth Valley an estimated £5 million every year. Please help by:-

Use medicines in date order

Check your supplies at home before re-ordering.

--------------------------------------

Repeat Prescriptions

We would like to remind patients repeat prescription requests are available 2 working days after your request has been handed in. If you have requested a non-repeat item, this may take a little longer to process as the doctor has to review your requirement in more detail.

 TRAVELLING ABROAD?

If you are travelling to countries where you will require vaccination please do not leave it until the last minute to book a consultation with our Nurses.  We recommend that you are seen at least 8 weeks prior to your departure. It  would assist our Practice Nurses if you would kindly fill out our Travel Health Questionnaire which can be found on Section 8 of our 'Further Information' column.
